Services
Every person I work with carries a unique story. My work is shaped entirely around you—your history, your needs, and the pace that feels right for you.
Areas I Specialise In
I work with adults experiencing a wide range of psychological difficulties, including:
- Trauma and PTSD: Including childhood trauma, relational trauma, complex trauma, and PTSD. I support clients in processing past experiences that continue to shape how they feel, relate, and move through the world.
- Anxiety and stress: Persistent worry, overwhelm, panic, social anxiety, or the exhaustion of never quite feeling at ease.
- Depression and low mood: Exploring what underlies persistent sadness, hopelessness, or a sense of disconnection from yourself and what matters most.
- Relational difficulties: Patterns in relationships — with partners, family members, or colleagues — and the attachment styles that underpin them.
- Stuck patterns: Cycles that keep repeating despite your best efforts to change, and understanding the deeper roots that sustain them.
- Self-worth and identity: Reconnecting with a felt sense of inherent worth, self-acceptance, and belonging.
- Personality disorders: Including conditions such as Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) and Dependent Personality Disorder (DPD), where deeply ingrained patterns of feeling, thinking, and relating to others cause significant distress — and where compassionate, specialist therapy can make a profound difference.
I hold specialist training in two highly effective, evidence-based therapies for trauma and deeply held patterns of distress.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing)
I am a trained EMDR therapist and a member of the EMDR Association of Australia (EMDRAA). EMDR is a well-researched, internationally recognised therapy for trauma and PTSD. It works by helping the brain process distressing memories that have become “stuck,” so they lose their emotional charge and no longer intrude on daily life.
EMDR has been shown to be effective for:
- PTSD and complex trauma
- Childhood trauma and abuse
- Grief and loss
- Anxiety and phobias
- Negative core beliefs about the self
Professional membership: EMDR Association of Australia (EMDRAA)
Schema Therapy
I am trained in Schema Therapy, an integrative approach that explores how early life experiences — unmet emotional needs, difficult relationships, or painful childhood events — give rise to deeply held patterns (schemas) and coping styles that can keep us stuck in adulthood. Schema Therapy is particularly effective for long-standing patterns of anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and low self-worth that have not fully responded to other treatments.
My Therapeutic Approach
My approach is holistic, integrative, and tailored to you. Rather than focusing only on symptoms, I gently invite you to explore the deeper roots of what you’re experiencing — while also helping you recognise the strengths and resources you already carry within you.
In addition to EMDR and Schema Therapy, I draw from a range of evidence-based approaches, thoughtfully integrated and guided always by what will best serve you:
- Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT)
- Attachment-Based Therapy
- Mindfulness-Based Therapy
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Somatic (body-based) approaches
- Psychodynamic Therapy
